This blog documents my year as a Lewis Hine Fellow.  Over the next ten months, I’ll be creating documentary work in collaboration with IBA, a nonprofit community-building organization that supports the residents of Villa Victoria, a public housing project, as well as the surrounding areas of the South End, Lower Roxbury, and Dorchester.  IBA, or Inquilinos Boriquas en Acción, loosely translates as Puerto Rican Tenants in Action, which reflects the organization’s rich history in fighting to create affordable housing in the South End. I’ll be writing more about the history of Villa Victoria and IBA in future posts. I’ll also be using this blog as a venue for photographs, audio and other works-in-progress throughout my year here.
